Studio Sakaia is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. We operate in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the “UAE PDPL”) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) for visitors based in the European Economic Area.

When you submit our contact form, we collect the following information you voluntarily provide:

  • Your email address
  • Project scope (optional)
  • Your message

We do not collect sensitive personal data, payment information, or data relating to children. We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies or behavioural profiling.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information you provide solely to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and assess whether we are a good fit for your project
  • Communicate with you in relation to a potential or active commission
  • Maintain records of our client relationships

We will never sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the UAE PDPL and GDPR, we process your data on the following bases:

  • Contractual necessity — to respond to your inquiry and, where applicable, to fulfil our obligations under a client agreement
  • Legitimate interests — to manage inquiries, maintain client relationships and improve our services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights
  • Consent — where you have explicitly agreed to a specific use of your data

5. Third-Party Processors

We use a small number of trusted third-party services that may process your data on our behalf. Each is bound by their own privacy obligations:

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our processors are based outside the UAE and the European Economic Area. When personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses or the processors' adequacy certifications to ensure your data remains protected.

7. Data Retention

We retain inquiry and client data for up to 36 months from the date of last contact, or for as long as necessary to manage an active client relationship and meet our legal obligations. Data is deleted promptly upon a valid written request, where no overriding legal or contractual reason exists to retain it.

8. Your Rights

Under the UAE PDPL and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data (the “right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing
  • Request a portable copy of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@studiosakaia.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and no later than 30 days.

UAE residents may also contact the UAE Data Office (uaedataoffice.ae). EU/EEA residents may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

9. Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
